Permanent Archival Paper and its Research Progress

The definition of archival paper and the necessity of improving archival paper’s permanence were described. The aging and the mechanism of deterioration as well as the research progress were also introduced in detail. It is pointed out that the raw materials, papermaking methods and preservation environment must be comprehensively taken into account in order to extend the service life of the archival paper.
