Image Retrieval Based on Edge Feature

Color,texture and shape are widely used in content-based image retrieval (CBIR) as features of image,but edge is not paid enough attention that it deserved to.Based on the existing algorithm,a new method,using the combination of edge magnitude histogram and edge angular histogram,was proposed in this paper.Analysis and experimental results reveal that the proposed algorithm has a superior image-retrieving performance.
