The Application of Data Mining in Geology

Data mining is a field which can bring forth new ideas. It has been widely used in the field of astronomy,business and so on.Through it, people have got many achievements. Its potential application in the field of geology has been given more and more attention. This paper mainly generalizes the data mining’s six modes,two tools,seven mothods and discusses its prosperity and significance. Using data mining techonlogy people may abstract methods which can be understood easily. So they can recognize the geological rules and find new knowledge hidden in geology effectively. At the same time, the digitial procession of data mining techonology may increase the geological problems’object and decrease the error man made.
