Application of active power filter(APF)device on vessel and offshore module drilling rig

An application case of RESINE active power filter(APF)device used in frequency conversion system on the offshore module drilling rig(MDR)was introduced with comparison of the main electric parameters between former and post use of it.When the RESINE APF run,the practical operation result shows that the current waves were improved,the total harmonic voltage(or current)distortion in percent was reduced,the power factor was raised,and the transformer or generator could increase its load ability.The application of this device can provide valuable reference and guide to improve the electrical quality of vessel and offshore MDR which is used in frequency conversion system.
