A NEW METHOD OF THE RETRIEVAL OF HORIZONTAL DIVERGENCE FIELD WITH A SINGLE DOPPLER RADAR RADIAL VELOCITY DATA

A new method of the retrieval of horizontal divergence field with a single Doppler radar radial velocity data is presented.In a two-dimensional plane,an analytic plane centered on a certain point is established.Under the precondition that the wind field is changed linearly,the divergence at this point could be derived from the radial velocity directly.The experiments about the divergence fields of several typical and ideal wind fields were also done to verify this method.The results showed that the retrieved divergence fields were consistent with the analytic fields comparatively.The differences between the retrieval fields and the analytic fields were also discussed.
