An ESI-based Analysis of the Competitiveness in Plant & Animal Sciences of China Agricultural University

In this paper,with the aid of ESI(Essential Science Indicators),based on the theory of cybermetrics,we analyzed the changing pattern of the number of total papers,the number of total citations,which ranked at top 1% list in ESI database in plant animal sciences of China Agricultural University(CAU),and contrasted these data with that of some selected Chinese and international research institutions.We made quantitatively analysis and objective evaluation on plant animal sciences competitiveness of CAU from discipline productivity,influence,development force and innovation.The results showed that the discipline productivity and influence of plant animal sciences was high and the discipline development force and innovation needed improvement.These findings indicated that plant animal sciences of CAU is heading towards the world famous discipline.
