Time-frequency Analysis Based on Full Information and the Application to Fault Diagnosis

Combined vector spectrum theory with short-time fourier transform, wigner distribution and ambiguity function, new concepts, i.e.short-time vector spectrum(STVP) ,full information wigner distribution(FIWD),full information ambiguity function (FIAF) were presented.Algorithms and characteristics were discussed.Simulation and experiments results show that the full information time-frequency methods can greatly improve the nicety and reliability of rotating machinery fault diagnosis.Thereinto, FIAF is superior to the STVP and FIWD at time-frequency resolving power, suppressing cross-terms and filtering noises.Therefor, full information ambiguity function is very effective in the fault diagnosis of rotor system.
