Variational level set method based on geodesic active contour

In the classical level set method of implementing geodesic active contours model,upwind scheme is adopted.It needs small time step and re-initialization for every few iterations,so it is inefficient.Accordingly,this paper introduces a variational level set method based on geodesic active contours.Through introducing an enforcement for level set function,re-initialization is never needed.By experiment,the result shows that this method is effective and stable.
