THE APPLICATION OF CUBIC SPLINE FUNCTION TO THE PROCESSING OF OCEAN DATA

This paper introduces the interpolating method of cubic splines, ano tries to use it in the processing of ocean data. The experiment is based on the historical data of some oceanographic stations in part of the North Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, and the calculation is made with the SHARP-PC-1211 pocket-size computer and a comparison is made between the results of the processed data and the correction value of traditional process curves.The results show that the error between the two is small and the spline fit is good, thus showing the method of interpolation of cubic splines is feasible and effective in processing the ocean data of the time series. This paper gives a necessary explanation as how to apply it to the place where there is a thermocline.
