Explicit Construction of Filter Banks of Biorthogonal Bivariate Wavelets with Three-Scale Fator

The matrix extension problem for constructing filters of biorthogonal bivariate wavelets from the biorthogonal bivariate scaing functions is investigated. Explicit formulas for constructing filters of a class biorthogonal bivariate wavelets with three-scale factor are formulated by virtue of matrix polyphase decomposition method and time-frequency analysis method. Their properties are discussed,and three biorthogonality formulas concerning these wavelet packets are obtained.
