Investigation on the number of component in the phase rule

In a closed system if there is no change in chemical reaction kinds and extra restriction terms, its component number will keep constant. If there is some change in chemical reaction kinds or extra restriction terms its component number might change too. The component number in a closed system can be zero in special circumstance. The component number has no specific physics meaning.
