Hydrology and water resource data resources directory service system has gotten quite a few achievements in recent years by analyzing the background and status in our country of data resources directory service system,it provides strong support to current hydrology and water resource data management,organizations,find,location,data sharing and exchange.However,with the rapid development of hydrology and water resource data collection methods,the problems,such as resource sharing and exchange,etc,become increasingly prominent,which restrain the further development of information construction.By building hydrology and water resource data resources directory service system,the hydrology and water resource data resources are described in category with uniform standards.By using directory technology,metadata technology and network environment to offer the sustainment,the public are provided high-performances services in data searching and positioning which accelerate the sharing and integration of hydrology and water resource data resources.The paper expatiates the building objectives and main content;we design the whole system technical architecture.Finally,the significance of hydrology and water resource data resources directory service system are analyzed,and we point out the research direction in the future.
