Bit timing in optical fiber CAN communication of high power converters

Integration of the optical fiber with the controller area network(CAN) guarantees timely,reliable data transmission in the bad electromagnetic environments of high power converters.The communication system uses optical fibers with a 1 Mb/s baud rate and distinct node controllers.The bit timing and the synchronization of the CAN protocol are analyzed to determine the communication system bit timing requirements for a reliable bit timing scheme.Baud Error Ratio(BER) experiments validate the stability and feasibility of the bit timing scheme.
