X-Ray Luggage Image Enhancement Based on CLAHE
Yanwei Pang · Journal of Tianjin University Science and Technology · 2010
A contrast limited adaptive histogram equalization(CLAHE)based X-ray luggage image enhancement algorithm was proposed. First,a fast background padding method was used to reduce interfering effect of noise in the background. Next,CLAHE technique was adopted for image contrast enhancement. In the end,a combined sharpening method was employed to enhance image details. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is fast and effective in enhancing the contrast of X-ray luggage images and highlighting luggage details.
