Performance Analysis of TCP for Broadband Satellite Networks

Kai Wang · Chinese Journal of Computers · 2005

Accessing Internet through satellite links or making interconnection between the Internet and broadband satellite networks is important directions in the satellite communication. The TCP flow congestion control is one of the current hot problems in the Internet research because the TCP flow control is the basis for the Internet to operate normally. Since the long delay characteristics of the broadband satellite links, the performance of the TCP employed widely nowadays is impacted accordingly. This paper presents and discusses the performance analysis of TCP for broadband satellite networks. Simulation results validate the theoretical analysis.
