Design of a High PSRR and Low Noise Bandgap Voltage Reference Source

Liu Su · 2012

A new high-precision and low-noise voltage reference source independent of temperature was presented based on bandgap voltage circuit.Good stability and high PSRR were obtained by using a folded cascode circuit with high open-loop gain.Low transconductance PMOS transistors and external filter topology consisting of resistor and capacitor were used to achieve lower noise output.Input offset voltage of the operational amplifier was reduced by optimizing circuit layout. Results from Hspice simulation showed that the reference source had a nominal output of 1.2182 V,a temperature coefficient of 1.257×10-5/℃ for 3 V supply voltage, and a maximum output noise variation less than 5 μV for frequency varying from 103 Hz to 105 Hz.Test results indicated that the proposed voltage reference circuit had high PSRR,low noise, low temperature coefficient and low power dissipation.
