Mashups in Real-time Information Sharing and Integration on the Internet

Mashup applications are described with cases from the viewpoint of real-time information sharing and integration between websites.Some unclear concepts about mashups,such as mashup feeds providers and mashup pages,are clarified.Discussions are followed on the relations between mashup pages and component pages,between mashup systems and information portals,and between mashups and syndication.The services of mashup feeds providers are described by using the concepts,SaaS and DaaS.The methods for mashup systems to access to external data can be invoking external API or Web feeds,or Web scraping.Introduction is given on mashups developing tools working in SaaS mode.
