Research on the content-based image retrieval technology

The algorithms of the feature extraction and its corresponding characteristic matching algorithms of the content-based image retrieval technology were discussed,such as color histogram,color moment, gray-level co-occurrence matrix,boundary characteristic and their advantages and disadvantages.Then the summary of the image retrieval's evaluation criteria such as precision and recall,retrieval speed and time,sorting appraisal were studied.It was pointed out some directions worth further study for improving indexing mechanism and introducing the relevance feedback technology.
