Design and application study of e-learning grid

As a typical case of information service grid in educational area, e-learning grid adopts grid technology to setup a distributed mass educational resource environment. Distance learning users treat this as a high data sharable and effective manageable virtual educational space. E-learning grid uses WSDL ((W)eb (S)ervice (D)escription (L)anguage) to describe system service. Combining the concept of Learning-Objects (LOs) and characteristic of distance learning, system defines three grid services: LOs Repository service, LOs Storage-Retrieval service, LOs Registry service. An experimental system with Linux multi-host of e-learning grid, which provides the service of user register-login-usage-logout, illuminates the basic flow of e-learning grid.
