Location-Based Routing Protocols in Ad hoc Networks
Liu Bin · Avionics Technology · 2004
Ad hoc network is a kind of self-organized network composed of a group of end systems which can move randomly. Location-Aided Routing is a routing mechanism different from the topology-based routing in ad hoc networks, and it can use nodes’ location information to guide the route discovery, route maintenance and the packets forwarding. In this paper, ad hoc networks, its merits and defects are introduced. Two catalogues of routing algorithms, namely, the restricted flooding routing and hierarchical routing, existing location-based routing protocols are introduced, analyzed and qualitatively compared.
