Intelligent decision support system: State of art and challenges

Last decade much progress in the research of intelligent decision support system(IDSS)has been obtained. The aim of this paper is to assess the state of the art in this field. We give our discussion with a knowledge oriented approach. We first discuss knowledge and knowledge management in IDSS, then address models of IDSS with distinctive knowledge and knowledge process systems. Architectures, intelligent decision methods and cognitive aspects of IDSS are also discussed. The analysis and discussion provide a better understanding of challenges and future research directions in this field, which are addressed at the end.
