Shadow Elimination in Image Sequence Object Detection

Shadow detection is critical for video surveillance system. A new algorithm is proposed for this. In this approach, by using image division, through measuring the flatness degree of the result of image division, shadow detection and elimination is performed. The method is easy to implement. Experimental results, which demonstrate the method' s performance, are also shown.
