Design of a statistical and analytical software——FORSTAT and its application.

The complexity of forest information makes it indispensable to design and to develop a software with our own intellectual property for forestry statistics and analysis.After the analysis on system demands,based on the IBM--PC serial programming package,adding many modern statistical methods including seemingly unrelated models,simultaneous equations models,mixed models,measurement error models and so on,and using COM technology form three aspects:division of statistical function modules,design of user interfaces,selection of development environment,an overall design of statistical software with forestry characteristics,FORSTAT,is made.Taking the stem analysis as an example,the application of FORSTAT is introdeuced.
