Study on structure and performance of alkyl branching alcohol-based ether

Carbon distribution and branching type of commercial alkyl alcohol-based ethers were analyzed by GC/MS.Influence of branching on physical characters such as foam,wetting power and detergency were studied.The result shows that alkyl branching alcohol-based ethers has more wetting power than traditional products,but there are no obvious relationship between the branching degree with the physical character such as foam,detergency.It is a result of many factors,such as carbon distribution,EO number and branching.
