Analysis of Lightning Strike on 10 kV Distribution Network Pole Mounted Switches and Its Prevention Measures

Pole mounted switching devices of distribution networks are extremely prone to lightning strikes.Improving its lightning prevention performance is vital to enhance power supply reliability.The characteristics of lightning strike on pole mounted switching devices are analyzed.Mechanisms of lightning strike and its damage to entire distribution network are also discussed.Technical measures that improve switch lightning preventing performance are proposed.
