Restoration of the breakingpoints of a logging curve by means of mathematical morphology

Sun Jing · Journal of Xi'an Petroleum Institute · 2003

When a well logging curve obtained by scanning a sheet of worn drawing is processed by binary value (i.e., 0 and 1), some breakingpoints may arise. This causes the distortion of the curve skeleton and increases the difficulty in the vectorization of the curve. In order to ensure the continuity and the integrity of the curve, a method of restoring the well logging curve by means of the theory of mathematical morphology is put forward. The result of the method is very satisfied.
