Experience summary of waterway regulation projects for five typical reaches in the middle and lower Yangtze River

A summary of the implemented waterway regulation projects in the middle and lower Yangtze River was carried out in this paper.On this basis,five typical reaches including broad and bending reach with rock head protected,branching and bending reach in the shape of goose head,connection channel between two opposite bending reaches,slightly curved braided reach and straight braided reach were proposed.Then an analysis of the channel general situations,regulation methods and regulation effect was achieved.The successful experiences can provide theoretical basis for the future waterway regulation project in the Yangtze River.
