Improvement of fast motion estimation algorithm based on EPZS

EPZS(Enhanced Predictive Zonal Search) is an algorithm for motion vector searching,as well as a new predictive zonal search algorithm.In this algorithm more predicted motion vectors and more searching methods were selected to find out the best motion vector.This paper puts forward a new searching method based on EPZS by introducing new flat hex pattern and idea of asymmetric cross to simplify the algorithm and search speed without lost quality of sequence and in the same code rate.
