Research on the Bandgap Reference Applied in Pipeline ADC

Zhan Ji Yin · Microelectronics & Computer · 2005

In conventional BGR(band gap reference circuit), it's output voltage is the sum of a base-emitter voltage VBE and ?△VBE , it is always about 1.25V, this limits the application for the power supply voltage lower than 1.25V. This paper proposes a new kind of CMOS BGR circuit - current mode BGR. In the propose BGR circuit, the output voltage is the sum of two currents which are respectively proportional to VBE and ?驻VBE . By choosing the value of the resistor, we can get any output voltage between zero and power supply in principle. The proposed circuit has been fabricated in a 0.18μm mixed mode process, and provide a low temperature coefficient voltage for the high resolution ADC.
