The Research on Lightning Protection Measures of Power System

Four lines of defense were taken generally for lightning protection of the power system,which containing direct stroke,insulation flashover caused by lightning tower or overhead ground wire,the stable power frequency arc induced by lightning flashover and the power interrupt.Direct at the specific circumstance,the adjust measures to local conditions and flexible and practical lightning protection methods and measures were proposed through quantitative or qualitative analysis according to the above idea of lightning protection,such as AC and HVDC transmission lines,substations and converter stations,lines situated in mountain or plain area,transmission lines of different voltage levels and power lines with different importance,and so on.
