A Uniform Method to Manage Debugging Information

The analysis and management of debugging information is an important component of a debugger system.There are many forms to store debugging information in executable files. A mature debugger system should support to analyze and manage various forms of debugging information. A uniform method to manage debugging information is proposed in BWDSP's debugger system. Debugging information of different forms can be transformed into a universal form by this method. Other modules of debugger system can neglect forms of debugging information and use debugging information in a uniform way. It is proved that the method can uniformly manage debugging information of C language source file in DWARF and STABS form.
