Tonic accommodation adaptation induced by near work

Objective To investigate the tonic accommodation adaptation in different refractive groups after sustained near work. Methods Pre-task tonic accommodation and post-task tonic accommodation were measured by SEIKO-WV500 autorefractor.Tonic accommodation was measured sustainly for 90 seconds after 10 minutes near work. Results After near work most subjects exhibit higher tonic accommodatin,the shift of tonic accommodatin in late onset myopia was significant higher then that in other two groups.the shift of tonic accommodation eventually decayed to a stable baseline with 60 seconds. Conclusions The tonic accommodation of late onset myopia have the higher positive shift which may be induced by the decay of parasympathetic innervation.
