Research progress of reinforced fabric composite membrane

Separation membranes are widely used in medicine,textile,sewage treatment,food and other fields. But it is found that single membrane materials have such disadvantages as low mechanical strength and short service life. Because insufficient support leads to membrane pores to collapse,separation stability and permeability are affected. In order to enhance the mechanical strength of membranes,fabric is usually chosen as the support for preparation of composite membranes. This paper,from the viewpoint of fabric,discusses the research progress of reinforced fabric composite membranes at home and abroad,with focuses on four kinds of reinforced knitted fabric composite membrane including their structural features. And the developing trends of reinforced fabric composite membranes are given.
