The situation of the scattering quintessential extracts from The Purple Flute and The Purple Hairpin indicates that the selected scattering operas during Wanli period are similar to the original ones,especially Chu Mu while most of the selected Zhe Zi operas during Qianlong period have great difference from the original ones,especially Dao Bai.The reason is that the task in Wanli period is to pick out the scattering quintessence among the operas whereas the task in Qianlong period is to mold the Zhe Zi operas into classics.
