A method for computing genetic similarity based on microsoft excel

Generally, analyzing the electrophoretic mapping when we analyze and classify the biological species using the technology of molecular genetic marker, we can obtain the 0/1 matrix, then we should compute the genetic similarity (GS) and the genetic distance index (D) among the species using special statistic method. Many scientists usually compute GS and D employed the calculator by hand, as it is slow and easy to make mistakes. This article introduce a method based on the sheets of Microsoft Excel, which can help us to achieve the computation of GS and D more easily and accurately according to the 0/1 matrix.
