The Application Tendency of IT in Construction Industry --Information Islands and Information Integration

This paper analyzes the application tendency of information technology (IT) in construction industry detailedly. First of all, the author describes the phenomenon of information islands in IT Construction; then introduces the conception of total project system; and finally two solutions, i.e. model-based information integration and internet-based information integration are compared.
