According to special structure and working principle of the large backhoe dredger,we expounded the design of the functions,hardware structure,monitoring and controlling software realization of the integrated monitoring and controlling system for large backhoe dredger.A variety of system functions were realized,including dredging information display,monitoring and controlling of equipments,etc.The system has been successfully applied on a large backhoe dredger belonging to a Chinese dredging company.After working in practical dredging,the system is running well,which meets the functional requirements of practical dredging.
