Design of the Leading 0/1 Computation in the Floating Point Operation

Several measures of dealing with the leading one computation is presented.The principle and implementation of the measures is expounded.The designs are described in VHDL.We have performed the wave simulation and acquire the synthesis results.For the sake of balancing both speed and device area,an effective leading 0/1 computation measure which is easy to realize is adopted in practice.The design has been used in the IP software core design of 32 b complex floating point operation as a module,and acquire a good result.
