In this paper,author proposes a novel technique for fast motion compensation which chooses different search pattern according to the type of video sequences.The paper proposes a double hexagon and diamond search pattern aimed at the video sequences to reduce the search points.The experimental results justify that the proposed algorithm can reduce the computation complexity as well as maintain the image quality.
