New packet scheduling scheme for video transportation

Packet loss control is an essential issue for video transportation over Internet.Buffer management is a traditional network technique to protect video data against packet loss.A new innovative use of packet scheduling to meet the loss constraints of video com-munication is proposed.Followed by programming tests concerning establishment of systematic video communications,the packet-scheduling scheme at a router is simulated and evaluated using real video data which assures that intra and inter-stream loss requests for video transportation are met.The results demonstrate the advantages of the proposed scheme,in terms of loss performance and efficiency.
