Clustering structure based multicast routing protocol for MANET

Mobile Ad hoc networks(MANET) arenew kind of special mobilenetworks,which have good prospect of widely application in the field of disaster recovery,forward-deployed military networks,sensor network,distributed mobile computing and so on.In this paper,according to the characteristic of most used layered structure in mobile Ad hoc networks,clustering structure,and a clustering structure based multicast routing protocol for Ad hoc networks is proposed.Clustering networks structure which are composed of clus-terhead,gateway nodes and cluster member nodes is formed through partition of mobile Ad hoc networks.Virtual skeleton networks are composed of clusterhead and cluster gateway nodes in clustering networks structure.Multicast tree that meets the demand of multicast is obtained through looping test and redundant pruning algorithm to acquire the virtual skeleton networks.Simulating results show that steady packet delivery rate is achieved and routing time is also improved.
