Research on extraction form information from engineering drawings based on matrix expression

Following the analysis of characteristics of the forms in engineering drawings,this paper presents methods using line-segment matrix and intersected-point matrix to describe the forms in engineering drawings.By dispersing the unit grid of the forms,the expression of basic unit grid that can show all information of the unit grid will be established correctly.The correlation among the characters of the forms in engineering drawings is established by using template matching algorithm based on intersected-point matrix through which all of the form information in engineering drawings is obtained and written into database.
