This paper analyzes the characteristics of wireless sensor networks for coal mine and the requirements of its routing protocols firstly.Aiming at the frequent changes of network topology,a greedy routing algorithm based on geographic information and hop gradient is proposed. With the proposed routing algorithm, two key problems that how to bypass the hole and how to decide the optimum routing nodes can be solved well, and the routing messages is simple and maintainable. The analytical results show that the network is featured by strong robustness and scalability,it is suitable to be applied to the real-time monitoring networks in coal mine.
