Anti-spam technology:a summary account and analysis for performance of gateways

With the development of the Internet,spam problem becomes a more and more serious issue.It has severelyaffected our lives,which leads to inestimable economic loss.In this paper,the existing anti-spam techniques are dis-cussed.The discussion mainly focus on filtering,which is the dominant technique employed by current anti-spam soft-wares.It includes strategies such as black list /safe list,content filtering,bias filtering and so on.Then the different pro-posals of anti-spam techniques,such as challenge response based on authentication,Domainkeys, CallerID plan andelectronic stamping protocol are introduced.Lastly,various anti-spam softwares in the market are analyzed.
