E-Defense and research tests

This paper introduces the largest 3-D shaking table in the world which is nicknamed E-Defense and its specifications,also describes the meaning of the nickname,symbol mark and construction background of E-Defense.Some concerned issues are profiled,such as operation and management,service and plan,finished research tests,result data and its share,research types and application process.Some recent finished tests are briefly stated in Special Project of Mitigation of Earthquake Disaster in Urban Areas by MEXT,Japan.Finally,a suggestion is offered to use E-Defense to do collaboration research with Japan.
