An Application of Wavelet Analysis to Nonstationary Signals

In this paper,we first summarize the development of the wavelet theory.We introduce the wavelet transform and Mallat fast algorithm,and briefly compare the wavelet transform with the more classical sthort time Fourier transform approach to signal analysis.This paper shows that the wavelet transform on the multiresolution approach is particularly suitable for the analysis of nonstationary signals.
