Outage Probability of Two-Hop Fixed-gain OSTBC Transmission

The source and terminal a two-hop relay system are equipped with multiple antennas,while the relay only has a single antenna.OSTBC strategy is employed at the source,thus to achieve space diversity,wihle selection-and-combination is used at the terminal.To reduce the complexity of relay,the fixed-gain amplify-to-forward relaying protocol is adopted.The expression of total received SNR is derived for the case that the direct communication link exists.Also,the closed-form expression for outage probability is derived in Rayleigh fading environment.Finally,Monte Carlo simulations and numerical results indicate that the theoretically-derived expressions are correct and accurate.
