Application of graph grammar EGG to design of ER diagrams

To check the wrong structure of the ER diagram which is designed relatively complex,an approach for checking the correctness of a given ER diagram by the application of graph grammar EGG is proposed.Productions are first defined based on the structure specification of ER diagrams,and then the EGG's parsing algorithm is used to analyze the structure of pretreated ER diagram so as to check the structure correctness of the ER diagram.Through performances of the proposed method,the validity and efficiency of the presented method is demonstrated,and the method provides convenience for designers to check the structure correctness of the ER diagram.
