During the construction of digitalized campus,the capacity of data was growing fast.To meet the needs of data storage, more and more schools began to turn to huge data storage system.Storage system should have the massive hard disk loading capability to take role of huge data saving.The design of the whole architecture of storage system will set great impacts on the performance of system and max HD loading capacity.This article focus on the technical details about SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) channel technology inchiding technical architecture,definition of different port,broad-band port technology and so on.Meanwhile,it compares with the existing channel technology,e.g.FC.The writer of the article believes that SAS has its own advantages in interface bandwidth,performance, scahbility,network based applications and reliability.It is a technology which is quite suitable for enterprise level system.
