Analysis and Review on 4D Architecture

The 4D architecture project is an important project for future Internet research.It re-builds the control and management functional architecture of the Internet,and has remarkable effects to the subsequent research projects.The contents and efforts of 4D architecture project are outlined,and its objectives,ideas,designing principles and technical scheme are analyzed and reviewed.The analysis indicates that the centralized decision mechanism of 4D architecture is helpful to automating the network control and management,but there still exist some technical obstacles to be studied and overcome,and the modification on the centralized architecture may lead to a more practical scheme.Thus more research on the 4D architecture is of potential value.
